How To Apply For Romania Tourist Visa With Philippines Passport [Romania Visa for Filipinos]

A few months ago, I’ve traveled solo around Europe for 2 months and one of the highlights of my trip was my extended vacation in Romania. I was only supposed to stay for 4 nights but I extended for another 2 nights and during this city break, I’ve met 4 readers of our blog! Who would have thought people would be reading our blog from the other side of the world?! I met 2 couples, Raluca & Shahriar and Catalina & Robert. If we have one thing in common that is we all have cats! Haha! It was just amazing to meet people who appreciate you and all your hard work.

Romania is home to Dracula’s Transylvania Castle that haunted all of us at least once in our life when we were young. I can remember not getting enough sleep at night just thinking about it but there’s more to that in this country. They have a beautiful and clean city, picturesque landscapes, beautiful rivers, rich history, ancient monasteries, and medieval towns all waiting to be discovered by you.

Here’s how you can get that Romania Tourist Visa with your Philippines Passport! ;)

2. We are traveling as a group. Can we apply under one file?

No. Each must apply individually.

3. Can I change the answers I gave on the online application?

Sure. Just make sure to use the forward and back button on the page itself.

4. Is it possible to interrupt the online application?

Yes. You can always go back to the page and just click Continue Filling-in Your Visa Application Form. This document will be stored in the system for a total of 30 days.

5. When should I apply for the visa?

It is highly recommended that visa applications be lodged at least 3 weeks before the estimated date of departure and not more than 3 months before that date.

6. Do I need a booking reservation or a confirmed flight?

It’s actually confusing because sometimes they require a confirmed flight but sometimes a mere reservation is enough. I highly suggest availing of a Rent-A-Flight Ticket to be sure. It is a confirmed and legitimate booking reservation. It has a unique and legitimate barcode / PNR number that works with the airlines’ systems just because it is REAL and VERIFIABLE. This is only for 1,500 pesos which is a lot better than paying for the full fare of the flight and risking its cancellation due to possible visa denial.

7. How will I know if my visa is approved?

The Consular Officer will inform you when you can get your passport. Just go to the Romanian Embassy on that date and bring your receipt/claim stub. You’ll either see your visa stamped on your passport or there could be none which means your visa was denied.

8. Can I get a refund if my visa is denied?

N to the O! NO!

Not necessarily but they could ask you a few questions regarding your trip.

  • For Students- Enrollment Certificate from your school approved leave of absence (if applicable), and Affidavit of Support from parents (preferably in Red Ribbon Authentication); and

  • For minors- The minor’s birth certificate; The application form has to be signed by both parents; In cases where one parent has full custody over the child, the family court order has to be attached; Certified copies of ID/passport of both parents.

11. What if I’m out of the country, how can I apply?

You can apply online but make sure you come back to the Philippines within 30 days. Or you could process in the country you are traveling at if there isn’t; you can try applying for a Schengen visa instead.
