As per the Embassy of Timor Leste in the Philippines, here is the list:

1. Letter

  • If without invitation, a request letter with the applicant’s address and contact number

  • If with the invitation, an invitation letter with inviter’s address and contact number

  • This must be addressed to: Mr. Pedro LaranjeiraThird SecretaryEmbassy of Timor-Leste

2. Photocopy of passport - it must be valid, not less than six months from the date of entry in Timor-Leste

3. Photocopy of valid ID

4. Copy of round-trip ticket

5. Two (2) pieces of passport size picture with a colored background

6. Copy of bank statement 

7. Visa authorization form - in A4 size paper

STEP 1: Gather all the documents and place them on a Long Folder.

STEP 2: Go to the Embassy and pass your documents (personal appearance is mandatory).

STEP 3: Wait for the Embassy’s Call when you can get the Visa Application Authorization. Present this when you arrive at Timor Leste.

For Philippine Passport Holders, you can get a visa on arrival when you arrive at Timor Leste. However, you need to get a Visa Authorization Application at the embassy first.

3. Is Personal Appearance Necessary?

As per my conversation with the embassy, Personal appearance is a must.

4. How many days before my departure should I get my Visa Authorization Application?

You can get it a week or two before your flight to Timor Leste.

5. What if I’m out of the country?

You can wait when you go back to the Philippines as they need your personal appearance. If you can’t try the Embassies of Timor Leste in other countries.

6. Do I need Travel Insurance?

Travel Insurance is not a requirement. However, I always recommend getting one because we don’t know what happens. I recommend Safetywing, my insurance provider.
