Visa Type D is a long-stay visa issued to foreigners who want to stay in Montenegro for more than 90 days but less than 6 months. Those who want to live, work, or study can apply for a Type D Visa. You will need a guarantor in Montenegro either from a citizen, resident, or a company.
Usually, if you are a family applying, one can have a Type D visa while the dependents will have a Type C (short-stay). The Type C Visas can be converted when the holder marries a Montenegrin Citizen, buys a property, or is a dependent of a resident permit holder.
