Qualifications to be Eligible for a Barbados Digital Nomad Visa

Are you employed in another country other than Barbados?

Will you engaging remote work in Barbados? Or are you a dependent of someone who will work remotely in Barbados?

Will you earn an income of at least USD 50,000 during your 12 months stay in Barbados?

If the answers to these questions are YES, then you can apply for a Barbados Welcome Stamp!

Documents Required for Your Application

Preferably scanned or soft copies

1. Passport-Sized Photo – 2x2

2. Bio-data Page of Passport

3. Proof of Relationship – if with spouse or dependents and you are applying as a family (Principal applicant to Family members); Birth Certificate and Marriage Certificate are examples

Dependents will be a child or step-child below 26 years old or a relative wholly dependent on the applicant for his or her subsistence.

For those with dependents or family, documents from 1 to 3 are also asked per dependent.

4. Income Declaration – you need only a declaration that

  • You can earn an income of at least USD 50,000 in the next 12 months

  • And/or have the resources to support yourself (and family) throughout your stay.

5. Entry Visa - if required; you can check this link if you need a visa

Upon arrival, Valid Medical Insurance may also be required. We recommend SafetyWing.

Steps on applying for a Barbados Digital Nomad Visa

STEP 1: Gather all documents ahead; don’t forget to scan them.

STEP 2: Proceed to this website for the application form. Type the details asked.

STEP 3: Upload the requirements asked.

STEP 4: Double checked what you had entered the details you have typed. Sign on the declaration. Agree on the terms and submit.

STEP 5: Wait for the approval of your Barbados Welcome Stamp. In case you are approved, pay the Visa Fees within 28 days. They will also give you instructions.

STEP 6: You will be given your 12-Months Welcome Stamp. Congratulations!

  • Welcome Stamp Holders (including dependents) are not allowed to work with companies in the country or take away jobs from locals.

  • Those with the welcome stamp can stay in and out of Barbados.

  • The validity of the stamp is from the date of entry or arrival.

  • Visitors under this program are not subject to Barbados Income Tax.
