Forgotten or Lost SSS Number: How To Know Your Social Security Number
Did you forget your SSS Number? Here are the ways how to know your Social Security Number as well as verifying if it’s yours. Like the TIN, one can only have a single SS Number. If you are employed, especially by big companies, SSS Contribution is one of the deductions you will have. So that’s why it’s important to remember it.
The Social Security System is one of the insurance systems run by the Philippines. They have many benefits, including pension during retirement, sickness benefits, burial assistance, and many more. In case you forgot what your SS Number is, read this article on how you can retrieve it.

1. Check your Documents or IDs
One of the best places to find your SS Number is through your documents or IDs. My old company ID had my SSS Information on it and TIN; you may want to check that. The old blue SSS ID has the SSS number but the UMID Card, though, only offers you the CRN and not the SSS Number. Also, you can find your SS Number in your payslip as information may be placed there.
You can also check your E-1 Form; it’s a pink form used when registering for an SSS. I had it when I registered way back in 2014. I think it’s not used from 2016 until the present as registration is online. You can see your SS Number there.
If you have been self-employed, you can also check your past receipts. You can see your SSS number there at the top.
2. Contact your Employer
You can contact your employer as they know your SS Number. It is recorded in their database or file. The ones who usually have them are the HR, Accounting, or Admin departments. They can enter your name, and it will appear in their database.
However, if you have resigned already, you can still call them. Especially if it’s not too long. They may retain some of your details. If not, you can check the next steps.
3. Browse through your e-mail
If you registered with SSS online, then you can check your SS Number in your e-mail. It is indicated there once your registration is successful. Browse through your e-mail or just type “SSS.” You’ll eventually find it if you haven’t deleted it from your inbox.
4. Check online
If you have an online account, then log in to this website. After logging in, you can see your SS Number below your name on the screen's upper left corner.
You can only see your online profile if you have registered on the website; if not, you will need to register. However, you will need your SS Number for that. You will need to use other steps.
5. Contact SSS
In case you have inquiries, you can contact SSS. Just prepare your complete name.

6. Visit the nearest branch
In case you can’t go through the following steps above, you can go to the nearest SSS Branch. To know which one is near you, you can check through this website.
Those are the ways on how to know your lost Social Security Number. Please note we cannot find your SSS Number for you as we don’t have a database or are affiliated with the SSS. Please follow one of the steps above, and you can surely have it. Good luck!
