Greece is a part of the Schengen Area, so if you want to go there, you might need a Greece Schengen Visa. There are a lot of embassies where you can apply for a Schengen Visa. However, if your main goal and the longest stay is in Greece, then go to the Embassy of Greece in Manila. Who Needs To Apply For A Greece Schengen Visa

1. Those who are only visiting Greece;

2. Those who are traveling around the Schengen Area and will be staying in Greece for the longest duration; or

3. Those whose first entry is in Greece, if going to other Schengen Countries in equal length.

2. One Passport-sized photo with white background and not older than 6 months – (35-40 mm width) paste your photo (not staple) on the designated space of the application form, altered photos are not accepted 

3. Original Passport - with at least two blank pages and valid for at least 3 months after the date of stay in Schengen Area 

4. Proof of Financial means
Submit either or all of these:

  • Bank certification or Bank Books

  • Bank statements, credit card statements or balance within the last six months

5. Proof of Travel
Submit all of these:

  • Employment Contract or Social Security Contributions (if relevant)

  • Copy of real estate property (if relevant)

  • Proof of Family Ties

7. Proof of Occupation

  • Employed - Employment Certificate and Leave of Absence

  • Self - Employed - DTI/SEC Certificate, Income Tax Return, Financial Statements

  • Student - Proof of Enrollment and Leave of Absence from School

8.   Photocopy of Travel Medical Insurance - It should be applicable for all Schengen States and cover the entire stay or transit period of the person. The minimum is EUR 30,000 /PHP 2,5 million / USD 50,000. I highly recommend AXA Schengen for this!.

Step-By-Step Guide On How Filipinos Can Apply For A Greece Schengen Visa In The Greek Embassy In Manila

STEP 1: Gather all the documents stated above.

STEP 2: Request an appointment by emailing visa.man@mfa.gr

STEP 3: Wait for the reply to your appointment. Should it not be available, they will accommodate a similar one.

STEP 4: Go to the embassy with all your documents. Applications are on Mondays to Fridays from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM. Have your fingerprints scanned and pay the visa fee.

STEP 5: Pick-up your Passport with Visa at the Embassy, from Mondays to Fridays from 2:30 to 3:30 PM.

1. How much is the Schengen or Short Term Visa Fee?

  • 12 y/o below  - Free 

  • 12 y/o and above - Php 3,420.00 (as per October 2019)

2. How long can I travel with my Short Stay Visa?

90 days maximum in a 180 day period. 

3. How long does a visa application normally take?

A visa application usually takes up to 15 days. However, in some cases, the Embassy may take 30-60 days of processing time and ask for additional documentation and further verifications.

4. When should I apply for my visa?

At least 20 days before your departure but ideally 2 months before. It will take 15 days usually to process your visa, but let’s give an allowance for holidays and your travel to the embassy. Sometimes it will take an additional 30-60 days processing if needed.

Not necessarily but you may be called for an interview at the Embassy in case they see something wrong with your documents or they want some clarification with the purpose of your stay.
