Algeria Tourist Visa Requirements

1. Visa Application Form - complete this electronically, print 2 copies and sign it; be careful with the information as incorrect information will get you denied

2. Valid Passport and a photocopy - valid for at least 6 months with a photocopy of bio-page

3. 2 Passport Sized Photos - should be each attached to the visa application form

4. Previous Algeria Visa - a photocopy if you have one

5. Company Letter and Work Permit - in case you are a resident of another country

6. Return Flight Booking

7. Latest Bank Statement

8. Accommodation Certificate certified by Local Authorities (Certificat d'hebergement legalisé par l'APC), Hotel Booking or Invitation from an Algerian Travel Agency

9. Itinerary and Invitation from Algerian Travel Agency - if you are planning to go to Southern Algeria (Sahara)

10.   Visa Fee  â€“ visa fees will be informed to you once the application is received or approved

Step-by-Step Guide on getting an Algeria Tourist Visa

STEP 1: Gather the required documents stated, place it in an envelope. Make sure that it's complete. You can double-check by sending an e-mail to the Embassy beforehand.

STEP 2: Send your documents to the Algerian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. You will also need to include a prepaid envelope for the return of your documents through courier. DHL is recommended but you can also choose another delivery company.

STEP 3: Wait for the e-mail of the Algerian Embassy if you are approved and the amount of your visa fee.

STEP 4: Pay the visa fee through bank transfer/deposit. Make sure that you shoulder all bank charges and that the Embassy receives the exact amount.

1. How much is the visa fee for a tourist visa?

It will depend on the Nationality and circumstances, but in the Embassy in Indonesia, the fess is EURO 15 – 25 for single-entry tourists; in the US, it's USD 100.

2. Is the visa fee refundable?

No, once it is paid, it is non-refundable.

3. How do I pay?

You can pay through Bank Transfer to the Embassy's account.

4. Do they accept walk-in applications?

Yes, they do. If you want to submit your application personally, you'll need to go to the Embassy at 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM, Monday to Friday.

6. What's the schedule of the Embassy?

This will depend on your Nationality and type of visa as per Embassy; generally, it can be issued within 7 working days.

8. How many days before my schedule should I process my application?

You can do it for a month or two before your scheduled flight as you need to send and receive your documents through courier.

9. Should I buy travel insurance?

It's not required, but I always recommend having travel insurance while traveling out of the country. I use SafetyWing.

10. What are the other notes that I should take note of?

  • Indicate specifically your date of entry on the application form as you can't arrive in Algeria before said date

  • The Embassy is not responsible for lost documents or late submission due to the courier

  • You can't work with your tourist visa

If you are a resident of another country, check the nearest Algerian Embassy. If you are a tourist, you can apply at the Embassy of Algeria in Kuala Lumpur.
