Kach Solo Travels in 2020: Hello from SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA!
My country 143.. yes, I’ve never been here before! Haha ❤️
I still have a lot of photos of other places I visited in Japan but just arrived in this new country.. weirdly, I still have flu and coughing! Hope to get better soon! ❤️
I didn’t apply for a visa for South Korea even though I could get it easily while in Europe but I had limited time so I thought of getting a 72-hour transit visa (3 days). I have a Philippines passport but I had to show my residency card from Montenegro and other upcoming flights and all of my valid visas (and all passport stamps), just to try my luck. It was stricter at the check-in counter in Narita Airport and they had to get clearance from South Korean immigration for me to board the flight.❤️
It was smooth and when I arrived in South Korea, the Immigration officer gave me an entry for 30 days for FREE. Ha! Thank you, Lord.
I arrived during peak hours of budget flight arrival and the line was long and I was trying to catch the last bus to the city. Luckily, one airport staff randomly opened up the line for a foreigner on the Korean passport lane and I was on the right spot so I got in quickly, collected my luggage, exchanged my money and got in on the last bus for only 11,000 Korean won! I arrived at the bus stop at 10:48 pm and the bus left at 10:50 pm. The adrenaline rush and super happy nakaTipid!
I didn’t do any research for Seoul as my main intention is to visit my old friend who I met in 2016 while on a Press trip to Croatia. It’s been a while - we’re now both married and she has a baby.
When I told Ms. Jiemin Yoon that I’m coming to see her.. she arranged my hotel and Nine Tree Premier Hotel Insadong agreed to host me here for 3 nights on one of their comfortable standard double room! Really strategic location since I can easily go and walk anywhere from here. They also have family rooms and the price is very affordable for this location.
Jiemin also got me a 72 hour Discover Seoul Pass a product of Visit Seoul so I can visit most of the attractions for free and they also have hop on- hop off bus! I also have the limited edition so I can tap it to use in the subway and have more places that I can visit for free or with discounts including Nami Island.
