Kach Solo Travels Day 31: Walking Tour around Larnaca, Cyprus
As much as I just want to stay at the Palm Beach Hotel & Bungalows (Check the Latest Room Rates Here) the entire time during my 3 nights visit since I’ve had all the best meals I needed, wine, the room, Cypriot hospitality and the beach.. the GM (Mr. Antonis) arranged an afternoon tour around the town center of Larnaca for me.
Larnaca (Larnarka) is a port city on the south coast of Cyprus. It’s actually popular for scuba divers to come here because of the MS Zenobia wreck just offshore from the beach. You can also find the 9th-century Church of Saint Lazarus contains the tomb of the saint said to have risen from the dead. (Got all this info on wiki! lol)
I had a very nice tour guide, Anne, who is a Cypriot but been traveling around the world a lot with her son. We walked around town, she took my photos, had ice cream together and she even drove me to see the Larnaca Salt Flats which is popular for Pink Flamingos during the winter season.
There are nicer towns to visit in Cyprus but I knew I had pretty limited time (3 nights) so I decided to just stay in Larnaca where the airport is only 15 minutes drive away! Ha 🙏 Really had an incredible time there hanging out with some British tourists (Dolores, Lyn, & Rod) who have been to Cyprus and stayed at the same property for more than 10 years.. and they visit twice a year for at least 3 weeks! I joined them every dinner during the theme buffet nights where we had the BBQ party and Seafood Buffet! Really good food and conversation! ❤️
I shall return Cyprus and will definitely go on a roadtrip and diving!
P.S. For Philippines passport holders, you need a multiple entry Schengen visa to enter Cyprus. It’s EU but not part of the Schengen zone. Also, make sure you can show proof of accommodation booking, flight ticket and financial capacity at the immigration because they are quite strict there as there’s a lot of Filipino workers there. ❤️
