Kach Solo Travels in 2017: I got My SOMALILAND Visa with My Philippine Passport

After 4 days now in Djibouti but I still don't have my bag - I don't know if they lost it in Nairobi (Kenya) or in Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) and I'm leaving today. It's part of the journey and the only hassle I personally experienced in the last 2 months! Hope it will arrive because I'm wrapping up my Africa trip this weekend! 😭

Anyway, for the good news. I finally got my SOMALILAND visa, I really thought it would be hard to get for my Philippines Passport but we went to the consulate office and just filled out the form, paid $31, and waited for 24 hours to be processed!

Somaliland is is a separate country from Somalia though it's not internationally recognized. This country used to be the region that was protected by the British (maybe to control the trade in the Gulf of Aden).. the country is safe but they are currently experiencing a food crisis.

Wish me the best as I'm off to travel SOLO by taking public transportation to cross the border by land from Djibouti which will take 12 hours! Woot! ❤️

P.S. Thanks to my new Filipina friend and her boyfriend, Gladsy and Romain, who are hosting me here in Djibouti and letting me use her clothes!! Hahaha! Also to our local Djiboutian friend, Osman, drove me around town to assist me with my visa and to arrange my transport to Somaliland. The universe is good! 🙏
