Stone House Update - Montenegro Stone House Renovation Journey (Day 200)

The last major project for the house is done! Cleaning our 22,000-liter water tank! It seems like it’s never been cleaned for 15 years while only collecting rainwater. 😛

Our contractor power washed and cleaned our huge tank from morning until midnight aside from cleaning our entire terrace and outside the area because of the dust. Then we got the local firetruck to deliver water for us, we ordered 15,000 liters and it took them 3 rounds of the truck to refill.🤗

That’s the only issue living up on the hill because we don’t have water supply yet, we could get it but have to ask all of our neighbors (who don’t live here full-time) to talk to the Municipality. But it’s good for now because we have a huge tank and we don’t have to pay monthly water bills 😬

Can’t believe I’ve project managed this entire construction process and also did all of the interior design (we fully paid someone a huge amount of money before but never proceeded with her design or continued to use her service).

I chose and bought all the finishing materials, our furniture, and appliances. Calling and coordinating with all of our suppliers, doing the budgeting and running random errands. My very bossy & goal-driven personality (what Jonathan says) has been put in the proper use and I think I was effective as a first-time Project Manager though there were delays look we’ve done our first phase renovation in less than 6 months (I took over in March!) and it’s during the peak of lockdown. 🤣🤣

But it was really stressful so when we do our next phase of construction including the swimming pool, I think I’ll go and travel solo so Jonathan can handle it. 😬

I’m still very glad that I have a husband who has an architectural background who made sure the structural and technical works are done properly. Jonathan chose most of our kitchen appliances and the lighting decor among others as he has a really good taste (but he likes expensive things!!) haha ❤️

And so happy we have a professional contractor who made our vision into a reality. We only had a minor issue before because of the costing/finances but the quality of work is topnotch and they looked after me as I’ve been on my own for 4 months - buying my food, throwing my trash, and random errands! Highly recommended! ❤️

Tomorrow, my husband will be back and will finally see the fruit of our hard work! From his AutoCAD design to our dream home! Let’s see his reaction!❤️
