Liveaboard Life Day 103: Loose Boat in Luperon Harbour

A boat neighbour has a loose boat in the harbour today.. they just arrived in Luperon yeaterday and I think they were out for some tours around town when another sailor announced on VHF radio that a boat got loose and drifting innthe harbour.. trade winds were starting to pick up and it was a massive boat that could hit other small boats or that it could run aground and damage the keel!

Today, I can say that I really love the sailing community here.. a lot of sailors jumped into their dinghies (small boats) and tried to rescue the loose boat.. the owners weren’t there but since a lot of them are “Captains” of their own boats.. one decided to get into the cockpit and luckily fired up the engine to return to its mooring ball while the other dinghies were trying to stop the sailboat from drifting.. Jonathan was one of them who helped and he jumped to the bow of the boat to tie it back to the mooring ball! Ha, what a day but just showing.. goodness in community still exists! ❤️
