Liveaboard Life Day 101: Motorbike Trip to Fricolandia in Luperon, Dominican Republic

Woke up early today as it’s too hot and our Captain Ahab was asking for his food.. he always wakes up at 5:30 am but today he’s been tapping and meowing at me at 4:30 am! Hahaha!

I don’t usually spend crazy loads of time on IG lately, but earlier, I was just checking photos of people who tagged “Luperon”.. Luperon downtown is where we are based now, it’s just a small town where the Luperon Bay is located but LUPERON is also composed of different farming “barrios or barangays”.. I have to do a better research about that! Haha! There are a lot of beautiful beaches here overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, but most of the tourists are local Dominicans or the sailors! Thru IG, I discovered a small resort which has cabanas on top of the rocks where you can easily go “rock jumping,” snorkeling or just swimming! (check below to see Jonathan’s jumping shots! haha)❤️Since it’s a last minute plan; we contacted the owner if we can go to his property since reservation is required. Haha! We asked our friends, Stacy and Matt of Sailing Roxy Dog if they’d like to join and they did so off we went to Fricolandia on our motorbike by lunchtime! 🏍

We arrived without any food so we asked the staff if they can help us buy fresh pork and chicken to put on the grill.. well, they ended up cooking it for us while we’re busy drinking our rum punch and sparkling wine! Haha!👍😇😎 Thank you Melvin & Chelo for the great hospitality! Dominican people are hospitable! 😍
