Expat Life in Montenegro Day 442: Jonathan’s birthday week! ❤️
It’s Jonathan’s birthday week so I’ve been organizing a lot of trips for us. Haha!
Jonathan and I took a trip over to Kotor for a boat tour of Boka Bay, something we have never done even though we've lived here for a year already! We’ve sailed around Boka Bay but never really sailed up to the UNESCO heritage town of Kotor.
We have worked with Tinggly Experiences many times before and so you will have seen us share other amazing experiences we have done with them in the past.
We can highly recommend this Boka Bay Day Tour.
We were picked up by private minivan in Bijela, then driven to the boat in Kotor. There were a few other tourists on the boat with us, but it was huge so there was loads of space.
We started with a glass of 'breakfast champagne' and a swim opposite the historic port town of Perast. 🏊🏻♀️🏊🏻♀️
Then we headed out to the entrance of the bay to go to the blue cave, a huge cavern with clear blue water that glows with luminescence when you splash around! 😂
After swimming inside the cave we visited an old disused submarine dock, hidden inside a tunnel in the hillside.
From there we crossed the bay to Porto Montenegro in Tivat where we ate lunch and had an hour to walk around.
Our final destination of the day was Our Lady of The Rocks, a tiny islet off the coast of Perast with a tiny church built around 1452. It’s Jonathan’s first time visiting the church 😛
We were able to stop for one more refreshing swim on the way back to Kotor.
It was a great day and we really enjoyed being tourists in our own town for a day! ❤️
