Kach Solo Travels in 2020: Hello from PAPUA NEW GUINEA - my country #141
Hello from PAPUA NEW GUINEA - my country #141 using my Philippines passport.
I still have many photos and stories to share from my Philippines stopover but would do that next week as I don’t want to be insensitive with the current situation and also because a lot of my friends are affected. I also caught a flu since I arrived, maybe because of the change in weather.
Thankfully, I was able to catch my 5-hour flight last night.. they had two flights that got canceled earlier this week and the flight was overbooked! I was one of the few last passengers to get in! Ha!
Thanks to still cheerful NAIA staff esp to Kuya Ronald Operaña and people at the desk of Air Niugini. It must be hard for them but they were still nice to the passengers even though a lot of them are angry already which is not their fault at all.
I’ve met a lot of Filipinos working in PNG - for the mining and also for the government. Incredible to know their stories and proud of how respected our OFWs here.
It’s Visa-on-arrival for Filipinos here in Papua New Guinea if you arrived at the airport, the fee is free but I decided to get an e-visa for $50 in advance so I will not be asked a lot of questions at the immigration (they didn’t) as I just told the officer that I’m collecting passport stamps and just want to get a glimpse of their capital city! ❤️
The flight landed an hour late which is at 6 am and the shuttle of Hilton Port Moresby is already waiting for me who is the host/sponsor of this trip. Florida, the Marketing Manager, was there to welcome me and showed me my room.
Ah, excited to go on my tour later today until this weekend.. will be back in the Philippines on the 19th for my Ortigas meet up with our readers. It’s a free event and on the rooftop, if weather permits - if not we will go their indoor ballroom so the event is confirmed as long as I will be able to catch my flight back ✈️
See you guys! For now, let’s explore Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea! ❤️
