Liveaboard Life Day 279: HAITI π Really loving our experiences here.
As you guys followed my travel adventures around the world then you know that I love off-the-beaten destinations but Haiti is not really that because they have tourists coming to the capital or cruise passengers in Labadee.
Been hearing about the great things about Cap Haitien in North Haiti or also called Historic Haiti π This is where the Columbus stepped on the first time they discovered the country (hmm based on what our guide told me π€) and they have rich monarchy history as well and learned more about it yesterday when we visited the UNESCO heritage site of
Citadelle LaferriΓ¨re or Citadelle Henry Christophe and the Sans Souci Palace π
We could only drive up to the second parking lot to go to the Citadellle and have to hike up for 1 km. either by walking or horse.. Kelly of
Sailing Satori and I chose the horse! Not that we're expert with horses but it's a crazy steep walk up for my lazy selfπ
Incredible trip so far arranged by Gael of Satama Hotel (Check the Latest Room Rates Here) and their tour agency, Destination Creole. Having them arranged everything for us made this experience very different for us. Feeling safe and been eating amazing food while drinking rum! Will post more later after we return from our Amiga Island & Labadee tour π
Learned a lot today about the history of Haiti, experienced the hospitality of the locals, had a fresh coconut juice and took a lot of wonderful photos! π
