9 Reasons Why I Love Using Google Flights to Find Route and Cheap Airline Tickets
If you want to screen all the flights out there with sharp laser-eyes as if you have super powers, then you’ve come to the right page. Google, a game changer as usual, now has revamped its own Flight Search Engine called Google Flights, probably the quickest and easiest way to find flights out on the internet. For someone like us who travel a couple of times a year and who want the best prices for flights there is, this is the real deal.
HOW IT WORKS?
1) Just go to Google Flights.
2) Search for a flight.
3) Choose a date, and voila! You’ll see all the flights in a matter of seconds.
I don’t really know why I had to write this section because the Google Flights Website is very easy to navigate. It’s just like going to a small supermarket where there small alleys with all the things you’ll ever need, unlike those huge ones which will take a lot of your time looking for what you need among the many alleys.
DO YOU RECOMMEND USING THE SERVICES OF A TOUR/VISA AGENCY?
Yes, I highly recommend availing the services of iVisa, if you feel more comfortable having your application submitted by a professional organisation. They have been providing expedited processing and guidance services for any e-visa applications since 2013 so they have a lot of experience. Here are some advantages of getting your visa from them:
They have 24/7 support in many languages.
Application forms are all available on one page;
You can get your Tourist eVisa, Medical eVisa, and Business eVisa within 24 hours if you apply for the Rush Service;
They provide a full refund under their approval guarantee in case your visa gets rejected!
Go to the iVisa website to discover how they can help you with your visa application.
WHAT I LOVE ABOUT GOOGLE FLIGHTS?
Aside from the things I mentioned above, here are some of its features which I greatly adore!
1) It’s lightning fast
Seriously, you’ll see all flights in a matter of seconds. It’s just like going through all the airlines’ websites with a single click (except that you don’t have to go through all of them now). Using this search engine saved me so much time especially now that I’m super busy because I have a lot of coaching clients to attend to.
2) They show all the prices for the whole month
Yep, all the prices are shown for several months before and after your travel period. Now, there’s no point in looking at all the dates available just to know if it sticks to your budget. All you have to do is type in the destination you’ve been eyeing for as well as the date. Thereafter, a drag down will appear showing all the fares for several months.
3) It’s like having laser eyes (but only for cheap flights)
It’s pretty much like having superpowers by having great eyes for good deals. Google Flights let you know which is the cheapest flight for the month by showing it up with a green font. I think it will be better if they show it up with sparkly gold though, that way you’d feel like you hit the jackpot (just kidding).
4) The Price Graph Feature
When you look at a price where one is 631 Euros and one is 564 Euros, we tend to think that there’s not much difference when in fact, that’s 67 Euros and albeit not being too much at first glance, that’s still some money which you can use to pay for a hotel. The Price Graph Feature of Google Flights makes you see the price difference of flights visually through graphs. No need to compute or guess now, just look at the graphs and see the difference.
5) The Travel Tips Feature
Let’s say you’re planning to go on a trip to Italy and you literally know nothing about your plans yet. Just click on “Tips” and you’ll get a Travel Guide right then and there. You’ll get ideas on what to do and suggested day plans whether you’re staying for 24-hours or for a couple of days. You’ll also see the weather for the month, best hotels, travel videos from vloggers, travel articles from bloggers, and other places to explore in your chosen destination. There’s even a map of all the featured places to see!
6) The Maps Feature
Search the “Explore Maps” option on the upper left-hand button and you’ll see the average price of flights wherever country you may be in. This is perfect if you’re not yet sure about your destination as it will give you an idea about the cheapest price to take. Remember, just because a country is closer to you does it always mean it’s cheaper!
7) The Tracked Prices Feature
This is another feature I love about them. Just click on Tracked Prices and enter your chosen date and destination. With this feature, you’ll know exactly the best time to book because they’ll send you an email regarding significant changes on the flight you’ve been eyeing for. Once you open Google Flights, this tracked flight will also appear.
8) The Graph on the Tracked Prices Feature
Once you select a flight to track, Google Flight also provides a graph on the flight changes. This way, you can monitor the movements or the pattern of the flight changes, if there’s any. Some people say that most airlines sell cheaper fares on Tuesdays.. I guess we’ll see about that.
This roundtrip flight I tracked from Paris to Manila increased by 22 Euros in just one day!! Yikes!!
9) The Find Nearby Airports Feature
Let’s say I want to go to London to visit my in-laws but the price for the flight to London Heathrow Airport is crazy expensive. Should I just wait and wait for the price to be cheap?? Of course not. I can always look for another airport close to London.
Google Flights have this feature which allows you to view nearby airports, the cheapest flight you can get from there, and how far it is to travel to your main destination by car. In my example, I can just go to Gatwick Airport for 80 Euros as opposed to 157 Euros for Heathrow Airport. It’s not too far either, it’s only 1 hour and 25 minutes away which isn’t bad at all.
Overall, I think Google Flights is the best way to plan your trip-- from flights, hotels, travel tips, they already have it all. It’s like a one-stop-page to get all the information you need. Also, a bonus take away is you can use them when looking for flights on seat sale! Most of the time, Airlines’ Website are down because of too much traffic but try and book it with Google Flights and you won’t be disappointed. :)
