Kach Solo Sailing Adventures: Crossing from Dominica to the French territory of Iles des Saintes (The Saintes)
“Just beautiful!” my first impression before entering the harbour! 🏝⛵️ But on our way, we caught a big fish for our dinner! ❤️
We grabbed the mooring ball at Ilet à Cabrit which is the spot for scuba diving and snorkeling.. spent the next 2 mornings swimming in crystal blue water! 🤗🧜🏻♂️
Bourg de Saintes is and adorable seaside town, really clean and have beautiful small houses with red roofs! We went walking to Terre d’en Haut which has a lot of restaurants and shopping stores. They’ve said that it feels like you’re in Brittany in France (I’ve only been to Paris so no idea what Brittany looks like)🤗
After walking around, I sat down in a small French cafe and had my Piña Colada which cost me 10 Euro! Yep, it’s expensive here but at least I got a very fast wifi connection to do a call to Jonathan and Captain Ahab! Haha🤪💏🐈
It’s been a week now with this awesome crewing experience.. I’ve learned a lot already and there will be more! Next stop is Guadeloupe (the main island) and then to ANTIGUA (to pick up the other crews!).. yep, itinerary is always changing depending on the weather!
P.S. I will be talking about in my future posts on how you can travel or find volunteering gigs like this one.. no, you don’t need to be a blogger/instagrammer/youtuber to experience “free” travels! ❤️
P.P.S. Dominica is visa-free for 21 days for Philippines passport holder (it’s a different country from Dominican Republic).. 🤗 Immigration officials when entering by boat is actually more relaxed than airports since I was supposed to need a French territory visa to enter but they were all smiling and said okay 😛
