Kach Solo Sailing Adventures: Arrival in Antigua (country # 104)
I’ve traveled to few Caribbean countries/ islands so far and the nicest among them all (based on my personal experience) are the Antiguans!! Smiling, helpful and direct to the point.. no hustling or hassling! Ha! ❤️
Arrived in a new country for me the other day where I’ll be spending the rest of the week.. in my previous post, I mentioned that I’m leaving the catamaran crewing position since the boat has a lot of issues and delays (and this time the holding tank problem which makes the boat smells poo-poo! lol) ⛵️ With this delay, it will take a while before the departure for Bermuda and the arrival in Rhode Island, USA (could take them a month!).
I thought the whole delivery of 1800 NM will take us 3 weeks but nope, after 10 days we only just arrived in Antigua! So, I’ve decided to enjoy this week and book a last minute flight back “home” to our S/V Empress where Jonathan and our cat, Captain Ahab! I miss them soooo much! 🤗😛
So today, I hang out with locals who invited me on their party (the season-end party of the Norman Harbour’s staff) and I also went hitchhiking to Shirley Heights to attend the Sunday night party and to see the spectacular view of the Falmouth and English Harbour (where our boat entered).
It’s been incredible solo travels so far and I can’t wait for Jonathan to personally experience this island and the sailing trip on our own boat! ⛵️Sharing more photos from my camera later so here are some selfies! 🤪
P.S. Who among you have tried hitchhiking? 😛
