There are 174 countries and territories that are visa free countries for UK citizens and that makes British Passport as one of the most powerful passports in the world in terms of travel freedom. Without much hassle, British citizens can check their bucket list quickly as most countries don’t need them to submit requirements and apply for a tourist visa.

Since Jonathan is a UK Citizen, he can smoothly go to many countries without much hassle compared to me with my Philippine Passport. Not only that but as a British Citizen he can wander and work around the EU Countries (lucky him!) while non-EU passport holders like me can travel with 90/180 rule. Plus as a British citizen, he can get help from about 250+ UK Embassies or Consulates all over the world.

Now, let’s get to know what countries British passport holder can travel without a visa!

VARIOUS TOURIST VISAS EXPLAINED

There are basically four types of VISA that a traveler can secure.

VISA-FREE All you need is your valid passport (at least six months valid), and you can enter the country without a visa for a specific period.
VISA-ON-ARRIVAL (VOA) When you arrive in a particular country, you can get a visa at the airport or terminal you land, you just need to pay some specific fees, and you then you’ll have a visa!
E-VISA You must apply and pay fees online for your visa application. Your passport number is on the database of the country you are planning to visit, so there’s no need for stickers or stamps.
VISA-REQUIRED You need to apply at the embassy or thru an accredited agency and pass specific requirements to obtain a VISA from the country you are visiting.

REQUIREMENTS COMMON TO VISA APPLICATIONS FOR BRITISH CITIZENS

Though some countries need specific requirements in their application, the most common document you need to prepare if you are hoping to visit the listed countries is a passport to be valid for at least six more months on arrival. Most countries require a minimum of blank pages in the passport, at least one or two.

I hope with this list; you feel fortunate to have a British Passport as there are many countries on this list. If given a chance, I would upgrade my Philippine passport to the British one to avoid going to embassies or consulates for visa applications. However, I am settling in with the perks of my UK Visa. Jonathan and I, as a couple, traveled to 80+ countries and 7 continents together. So far with my Philippine passport, I have visited 135 out of 196, a few more to go!
