Kach Solo Travels Day 17 to 22: 6 Days in Romania - Why I Extended My Stay in Bucharest!
From outdoor adventures in Montenegro to Roadtripping in the beautiful Bosnia & Herzegovina (best scenery in the Balkans for me so far!) to a luxury city break in BUCHAREST, ROMANIA!
As you guys know, my initial trip itinerary didn’t go as planned so I have to move going to Moldova at the end of my 2-month “solo” (without Jonathan) travels around Europe to complete my 120 country goals by October.
So, instead of being so upset.. I re-booked a last minute flight to Bucharest where I only initially planned to stay for 4 days that turned to be 6 full days of amazing company! ❤️ Everything happens for a reason indeed 🙏
Mirela, the PR/ Marketing Manager of Athenee Palace Hilton Bucharest (Check the Latest Room Rates Here) welcomed me at the lobby of the hotel and surprised that I arrived earlier (Friday) than Sunday as arranged.. I sent her an email while I was at the Turkish Airlines Business Class Lounge in Istanbul that I’m considering of just flying in early (I re-routed my flight by 1am and flew to Bucharest at 6am).. they are hosting my stay in the city but I told her I’ll understand if I can just go somewhere else until the day of booking (but I was also thinking of going somewhere else).. well, we met and she said she’ll handle it for me.. unexpectedly they hosted me for the last 6 days! Given me access to the spa, breakfast buffet and executive lounge where I was able to have snacks, dinner and unlimited wine! 🤗🤗 They also gave me one of their best rooms overlooking the city centre. Well, it’s Hilton so the facilities are expected to be top-notch ❤️ But what is unexpected for me are their staff.. the hospitality! ❤️
Julie, the lovely receptionist, has been wonderful assisting me for whatever I needed. While the person I should be grateful for (aside from Mirela) is Mr. Vasile, the Concierge Manager! ❤️
As you know, I just turned 30 and in the last 4 years of blogging and traveling.. Jonathan and I rarely go out on parties anymore since I mostly spend my day outside taking photos, hearing stories and researching while at night I use it to work on the blog, reply to messages and edit photos! 🙂
On Saturday night, my 2nd day.. I met a wonderful couple, Catalina & George who brought me to Nomads bar.. really fancy place where I tried a local Romanian cocktail but they dropped me back at the hotel at 9pm. I was about to enter when Mr. Vasile asked me what I will be doing.. told him I’m going up and catch up with work.. He told me that I should never leave Bucharest without experiencing the nightlife and the life starts at 9pm! I told him I don’t dance crazy anymore as I feel old and boring. Haha!
He gave me a place to check out which is 2 blocks away from the hotel.. it was called Eden Garden! That’s when everything changed for me and my entire visit.
I met two lovely Romanian girls, Ada and Mada.. who I think I’ve met in my past life! Haha! Amazing feeling to be with people who you have the same level of connections spiritually, mentally and age! Hahaha 😂
From that random meeting at the Eden garden to partying in Control Club, attending a Craft Beer Festival, a fancy Jazz music night out and our wine nights at the Athenee Palace Hilton Bucharest’s Executive lounge while talking about everything under the moon... you stuck with me the whole 6 days I was there! ❤ They even waited and drove me at 11pm last night to the bus station to my transport to Bulgaria.
On my 2nd last night, Mirela, brought me to this really fancy skybar/ restaurant on the 36th floor of the building overlooking Bucharest! We had a great night of talking about sailing and life.. Thank you, Mirela!! ❤️
On my last day, I also met this lovely couple, Shahriar and Raluca.. the wife knew the blog for years! They picked me up from the hotel and brought me to a really nice local restaurant and the Village Museum.
I have no word but GRATEFUL for all the people I’ve met on this trip so far!! Your vibes attract your tribe indeed! 😍💋⭐️ It’s not about the luxurious places I visited but the people who made it meaningful and memorable!😘
Thank you, GOD! Thank you HILTON!! You are Hilton in Romania, you are the definition of Hospitality! ❤️
