Life On The Road Day 127: Short stay in Gent, Belgium!

We arrived in Gent, Belgium after an easy 2 hour drive from the ferry at Calais. Because we were still 2 hours early to check in to our B and B, we walked around the nearby streets and found something to eat, before walking around a park in the shade for a while.

At 4pm we checked into Design B&B Logidenri (Bed and Breakfast), a luxury, contemporary classic guesthouse located right in the heart of Gent and only a few minutes walk away from all the city's attractions.

We relaxed in the room and soaked in a hot bath while waiting for the sun to go down, then walked (wheeled) up to the historic centre, where old stone bridges cross the river and churches overlook cobbled squares, all illuminated to create a relaxing and romantic atmosphere.

While looking for a restaurant to eat in the centre we stumbled across a small Japanese Sushi place which was still open. Not very Belgian but we were hungry and hadn't had good Japanese in a while!

The next morning we took our time and had a late continental breakfast in the dining room downstairs, with a buffet table that looks out onto the garden through a mammoth floor to ceiling glass door.

It was only a short stay in Gent, but we really enjoyed it and would definitely go back to explore more. Particularly in the more modern arts district which we didnt have enough time to see. Few years ago, we also visited Brussels but also not enough time.. hoping to come back! ❤️
