Sailing Life Day 13: Sailing from Nassau Yacht Haven to Palm Cay Marina
We left our other friends to move forward to our next adventure.. they are heading North of the Bahamas while we will be heading South until we cross to Cuba next month.
It’s been another beautiful day of sailing.. actually motoring for 3 hours with S/V Nellie Bly! We left the Nassau Harbour to head SouthEast of New Providence Island where we will be waiting for a weather window to cross to the Exumas islands but we’re not on a rush after seeing that this marina has their own beach, swimming pool and beach bar with live bands tonight! Haha! :) The locals are incredibly nice here in the Bahamas, always smiling and very helpful! I even got a beautiful souvenir earlier, the lady at our first marina (Nassau Yacht Haven) even gave me a Bahamian calendar so I won’t forget her!! ❤️
The marina where we are staying now is a more expensive option but we need a protected place for the sailboat because of the wind in the next couple of days! We can’t just anchor anywhere here because of the shallow water and corals/ rocks everywhere! 🤭
Captain Ahab enjoyed this sail because it’s only 3 hours! When we arrived I cooked our food while Jonathan made me a mojito from the rum that was given to us by Beth & Clarence of S/V Kestrel. Yum! Beautiful and expensive boats everywhere here..our boat can fit in, we have a very cute kitty cat! Hahaha 🤪 Now, time to go and watch the Friday Live band! Yay! 😆😎
Enjoy your weekend everyone.. we’ll do a marina tour tomorrow! ☀️👫🐈⛵️
