Sailing Life Day 24 - Boat Maintenance and Anchoring in Big Major Cay for the South Wind!

“Maraming poo-poo naman!!” - Oh gosh, Jonathan surprised me when he checked Captain Ahab’s litter tray.. can’t believe he knows those Filipino words! Haha! He’ll also call Ahab, “your cat” meaning Ahab is my cat whenever he poo-poo! Made me laugh despite having a busy day for me! 🤣🤣

Today has been a rough day for us while in the anchorage.. the waves are stronger today until Thursday and the wind is coming from the South which is against us, so we decided to stay longer in this area while waiting for a better weather to move on!🧐

I was not able to cook food because I got many client calls today and also spent most of the afternoon sleeping, got dizzy because of the boat moving all over, we have a monohull sailboat so it sways a lot! Captain Ahab is feeling better than me though, what a sailor cat! 🐈⛵️

So Jonathan fixed our anchoring again and released 150ft of chain so we’re able to feel the difference and now able to re-heat the Sinigang Fish I cooked for dinner last night from the fresh fish they caught yesterday.🐟

But by late afternoon, things got so much better... Kuya Artem Rio (one of our new Filipino friends we’ve met here) and also the Kuya who caught the lobster for us when he brought Jonathan spearfishing / free diving yesterday.. went to our sailboat! He remembered me mentioning we have some leaks on our engine.. just minor stuff but we need to do adjustments and tools! He went and checked it and gave Jonathan some tips and will hopefully help us again before we sail to Georgetown. Well, Kuya used to work in Oil tankers before and now the Engineer and Maintenace of all the generators (and a lot more!) in the private small island that they’re managing for 12 years now (together with his wife, Ate Noralyn). They’ve been treating us like their extended family.. always love meeting Filipinos abroad! Thank you talaga sa mga blessings! 🙏

Ha, been incredible days here, we’ve just been meeting wonderful people since we started this new chapter of our life and can’t stop being grateful.. the more you give, the more you’ll receive! ❤️❤️

Anyway, time to clean. Jonathan just left for his sunset fishing. hoping to catch more fish for more seafood meals! Yay 🐟🙏⛵️

P.S. I still have a lot of photos during the party with our new Filipino friends..just been busy socializing! hehe 🤪

Really loving this trip so far esp now that we’ve been meeting incredible people who are treating us like their family! THANK YOU, God! ❤️🙏
