Sailing Life Day 21: Sailing to Big Major Cay (“Pigs Island”) and a Dinghy ride to Staniel Cay, Bahamas
We did a quick live video earlier, Jonathan and I experienced another ‘first’ on our sailing life.. 2 sails up and engine was off! We’ve been motorsailing since we started our sailing trip 3 weeks ago and today, we were just SAILING - dependent on the wind and the waves! It was incredible even our cat enjoyed it! Watch it and sharing the link below... ❤️
Today, another thing was checked on my bucket list.. seeing the SWIMMING PIGS in Big Major Cay here in the Exumas! It was fun to watch but too scared to go near because our friend warned me that they bite and they even had a warning on a small hat in the island. haha! We fed them some fruits we got from our boat and left after 30 minutes because it was quite crowded.. we can still see the pigs from where our sailboat is anchored though!
We actually met up again with our friend, Stuart of S/V Moonshadow, and he has bigger dinghy so we hitched a ride with him while we toured around the anchorage and to Staniel Cay where we saw a lot of nursing sharks and rays (not sure if they are manta rays).. walked around the small island and tempted to go partying for the St. Patty’s day but realized we have our own wine & rum on the boat instead of paying $11 per drink at the bar. Haha!
Been incredible and tomorrow we will be snorkeling at the Thunderball Grotto and will try to go fishing on our dinghy! Will share more photos later from our sailing and Captain Ahab’s activities ⛵️🐈
P.S. Can you please help me with the pig photo captions? hehe 🤣
