5 Days in New York with my Mother..here’s our itinerary! ⭐️
I have a lot of plans to do in NY for my mom’s trip but of course, things have changed since she doesn’t want to do a lot of walking on this trip! Glad we have The New York Pass & 4-Attractions Explorer Pass we were able to customize our daily tours. 🙏
Here are some of the cool things we did that’s on my mom’s bucketlist which you can also do on your next visit. (This is only based on my mom’s interest as it’s her first time in the city and she’s 52! Haha 😂😂)
1️⃣ Watch a Broadway Musical show - 2 years ago I brought my mom with me to watch Mamma Mia, a West End Musical in London and today luckily, we got a last minute ticket and seat upgrade to watch Jersey Boys (it’s the show about Frankie Valli of The Four Seasons, the one who sang Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You)! Happy that she can relate to the songs, I struggled because not my generation but the performance was great! Haha 😂
2️⃣ See the Statue of Liberty - we had a ticket to go on a tour in Staten Island but mom was too lazy to walk so we opted for a Circle Line Cruise tour. ⛵️
3️⃣ Enjoy the view from the Empire State Building - done and we saw a KingKong’s mascot so mom was pretty happy about it!
4️⃣ Tour around Manhattan - we went on Hop On/Off Bus Tours during Day and Night time to see how it looks like 😍
5️⃣ Experience THE RIDE! - we really had a great time with this super fun tour that ended at 10pm! Haha!
6️⃣ Eat at a fine dining restaurant - not a Michelin star but one of the popular restaurants in Manhattan! We had an incredible dinner at Churrascaria Plataforma, a Brazillian Steakhouse restaurant with unlimited meat, sala, and seafood ✔️ You don’t wanna know the bill🤪
7️⃣ Luxury Staycation - mom is so blessed that the Library Hotel Collection group agreed to host us here and they gave us their Luxury Suites at Casablanca Hotel Times Square by Library Hotel Collection (in Timesquare) & Hotel Elysée by Library Hotel Collection (in Madison Avenue for Shopping) and a Balcony King room at Hotel Giraffe by Library Hotel Collection (near Flatiron Building! If you only know the room rates in Manhattan, what more for a suite! ⭐️
8️⃣ Have photos with famous people - there are a lot of celebrities who live in New York but the best way to get a selfie with them is to go to the Madame Tussauds, the wax museum! Hahaha 😂😂
9️⃣ Have a Photo in the Billboard of Times Square - I learned this trick from a New Yorker (Thanks Kuya Wes!) to just go to any of the stores with Billboard and ask them if you can have your photo! American Eagle already stopped doing it so we went to T- Mobile! Haha ⭐️
🔟 Watch a movie at the Regal Cinema in Times Square - not really too fancy but I personally haven’t been to a cinema for almost a year now since we lived on the boat! Mom wanted to watch the Tom Cruise movie over the Crazy Rich Asians so it was great while eating a Large size popcorn bucket! 🤪 This is perfect activity if you want to watch a newly released movie with comfiness.. love the seat there as it has an extension to lift my legs! Lol 🤗
1️⃣1️⃣ Eat at Ichi Umi Buffet Restaurant (in Korean Street) - this is where we ate for Lunch and Dinner on our first 2 days because I’ve been craving for Asian food with seafood! It’s cheap for Manhattan. Sample bill for 2 person is around $90 including the tips & tax! ⭐️
I will be returning to New York to get my new PHL passport in October and I know there are a lot of museums to still visit by myself (couldn’t do it because the traffic and the lines just take a lot of time!) so I’m really excited for that! For now, I’m off to Europe while my Mama will continue her USA East Coast trip with her cousin and college friends going to Philadelphia, Atlantic City, Washington DC and Maryland (she’s actually going to California as well!) Kaladkarin talaga! Haha 😍
For all the PARENTS out there, you’ve already spent most of your life looking after your children.. make sure to start giving more for yourself! It’s never too late (or you’re not too old) to follow your dreams!
