Sailing Life Day 56: Motorbike Trip in Luperon, Dominican Republic
Yesterday with other fellow sailors we went on a motorbike trip to the blowhole and Playa Cambiaso. We were like 8 motorbikes and mostly “gringos”! It was a fun afternoon ride in the mountains until we reach the blowhole then the viewpoint and to Playa Cambiaso - beautiful beach area of a nearby town! Incredible day seeing the countryside, small houses, piglets along the road and very-friendly locals.. this is definitely our kind of place to live! ❤️
Anyway, sharing a fun fact about Jonathan! Aside from his new love (sailboats), Jonathan was very much into big motorbikes! Actually, our first ever date was a quick #bike trip in Luang Prabang, Laos where we’ve met! He’s traveling around South East Asia that time on a motorbike - bought it in Cambodia to Thailand, Laos and then Vietnam! Where we met up again when I visited him.. we became a couple after a week-long bike trip in Northern Vietnam! These all happened in 2013!
In 2014, we had our motorbike for a month in Goa, India when we were there studying to become a yoga teacher! In 2015 and 2016, we went on motorbike trips for our travel blog business and even got a BMW sponsored trip in Morocco! Yay!
In 2017, Jonathan went back to Hanoi for a 5-day bike trip with his mate! Ah, a lot of bikes but now that we’re sailing around the Caribbean.. we’re actually considering of staying longer here in Luperon, Dominican Republic and buy a brand new 250cc motorbike and just travel around! As a foreigner, it’s easy to buy anything here as long as you have cash. hehe! The immigrations is also really relax and we can extend our visa as long as we wanted! Let’s see what will happen! Yay!
How about you guys, are you into bike trips? ❤️
P.S. Helmets are almost non-existent here.. it’s not being used by the locals but when we buy our own bike, we’ll buy our own helmets! 😂
