Jonathan on a Solo Trip to Western Japan Day 2: Miyajimaguchi
Jonathan was able to fly his drone above the Oyster farms in Miyajimaguchi during his trip in Japan! Here are some photos of his Day 2 exploring Western Japan with Visit Japan. Below are the photos and story of what he did there 😘
Yesterday, we left our hotel near Miyajimaguchi and headed for the ferry port to catch a boat to Miyajima, where we visited Itsukushima Shinto shrine. There are small wild deer living all over the area and wandering around with the visitors!
While we were there we also learned how to make the local speciality Momiji Manju, a sweet bun shaped like a maple leaf.
Afterwards we had a huge lunch and watched a traditional theatre dance show at Kagura Monzen hot springs village. The costumes and performace were really amazing!
From there we finished our day at the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park and Peace Museum, which remembers the atomic bombing of Hiroshima in 1945 and acts as a warning to future generations of what damage war can do to innocent people.
Our hotel, Hotel Granvia Hiroshima, was just around the corner. So we quickly checked in and went straight out to dinner at a local restaurant which specialises in oysters and Hiroshima style Japanese pancakes! 🤟💋
