Life On The Road Day 110: At the hospital on Jonathan’s 35th birthday! ❤️
“I’m so excited!” my answer when my anesthesiologist was asking me about what I’m feeling before he put me to sleep on general anesthesia. He laughed because he said it’s not a normal answer from their patients..I just want to get it done so I can move on with my life and get into recovery. 😂Him and his assistant (Sean) were talking to me and I think I was asleep in less than a minute 😜😬🤪
I was admitted at 11:30am and my surgery took 2 hours and I arrived at the Recovery room by 1:30pm.. I woke up with a beautiful Filipina nurse looking after me.. I was in so much pain and was nauseous so Nurse Maria gave me more morphine (a first for me)... Can’t believe how painful this bone fracture is and the discomfort it’s causing me but only little complaints here. I’m still very blessed to be alive, unlike the driver who had a more serious injury.
Two weeks after the car accident in Hunza Valley, North Pakistan and my visit to 3 different hospitals in Islamabad, Pakistan; Bangkok, Thailand and now in Gloucestershire, UK.. I finally got my Bimalleolar Ankle Fracture surgery yesterday with a great team of doctors and nurses! Impressive service from the NHS and I’m grateful that my travel insurance provider organized the guarantee of payment in advance so less worry for me of claiming the expenses later on. ❤️
When my anesthesiologist and surgeon visited me at the recovery room and explained what they did to me then asked me if I have any questions from her (the surgeon)... all I asked is if the stitches were okay and if my tattoo is still there! Hahaha! I only have two tattoos and it’s on my left ankle.. hard for me to get more because I’m afraid of needles and took a lot of courage to have it done in 2013! Hahaha 😬😬
I’m still at the hospital now waiting to get discharged and to be seen by a physiotherapist.. it’s Jonathan’s 35th birthday today and so sad for him to celebrate it beside me in my hospital bed compared to his big birthday celebration last year in the Dominican Republic. 🤣
It’s now going to be a long road to recovery with therapy and hoping not to get long term problems. I’m still optimistic and very grateful with what happened... you know, everything happens for a reason! ❤️
This incident won’t stop me continuing to reach my goal of visiting every country in the world using my Philippines passport.. I’m already at 135/ 196 and more determined to get it accomplished in the next few years! 🙏
But for now I will take a break from non-stop travels to prioritize my family (my husband and the cats) and other goals esp. finishing my travel book that’s been pending for the last 2 years. Hahaha! Aja! 🤗💋❤️
P.S. No red lipstick because it’s not allowed at the operating room. 😂
