Life On The Road Day 8: Weekend Trip to El Yunque National Forest and Staying at Casa Flamboyant Puerto Rico. π
This is our last getaway in Puerto Rico as we're leaving on Thursday night to New York! We've traveled to different places on this Caribbean island from Puerto Real, Boqueron, La Parguera, Guanica, Ponce, Caja de Muertos, Salinas, San Juan, Fajardo, Culebra etc but we've never been to El Yunque National Park! π This is the only tropical rainforest in USA territory and it's the biggest one in the Caribbean. It's only an hour drive from San Juan, the capital of Puerto Rico so we decided to go! π
Glad the beautiful Casa Flamboyant is hosting us here for 2 nights, we wanted to stay longer but we have errands and preparation to do for our departure! π The National Park is divided into two - the North and South side from Naguabo.. we're in the South part and this small yet luxurious boutique bed & breakfast property has their own trek to the Cubuy waterfalls and Rio Sabana! π
Jonathan and I left in the afternoon yesterday because I had coaching work in the morning so when we arrived.. we immediately enjoyed the small infinity pool overlooking the beautiful rainforest! π They even let us stay in their biggest room - the Rainbow room where we have our own balcony overlooking the Caribbean sea and Vieques Island while the room has a super comfortable King size bed!π Thanks Ricky and Florin for hosting us.. excited to try the full homemade breakfast! π€
So happy to see my husband so relaxed after all we've been through in the last 2 months of transition.. this is it! Love love love everyone! π
