Sailing Life Day 15: Drone Shots of Palm Cay Resort & Marina in Nassau, The Bahamas

Spent the day reading and sleeping while Jonathan wrote his Captain’s Log of crossing the Gulf Stream.. can’t wait to share that blog post!👫😎

It was rainy in the morning while very sunny in the afternoon and he decided to play and practice flying the drone to be ready for our island hopping in the Exuma and Ragged Islands! Yay 🏖🏝

This is the view from above of Palm Cay Resort & Marina where our boat is safe and secured for the wind blow this week! Just less than 25NM from the Exuma islands and it’s located in the South Eastern part of New Providence! 🗺

For the other sailors heading this way and want to skip the busy Nassau Harbor: To use the marina slips: We just called the day before arriving but advance reservations are required. Sailboats are $2.5/ ft while Catamarans pay minimum of $3/ft depending on the season + VAT after the total bill! We have our own solar panel so we didn’t use their electricity which is .25cents per kwh and the water is 35 cents /gallon.. we might refill our water tank before leaving! Compared to the other marinas we’ve been, the cool highlight is the facility because for extra $15 / person we can use the beach and swimming pool with free towels! Haha! They also have a laundry area and it’s $1.5 per wash (cheap!!!) and hot shower for free, starbucks coffee at the shop, full bar and restaurant, free courtesy car for 2 hours to go to Nassau and the grocery is just a short walk away for provisioning! You can rent a bicycle too! 🙏⛵️
