Kach Solo Travels Day 1: Arrived in New York!
Jonathan and I woke up really early for my taxi to Puerto Plata airport to catch my almost 4-hour flight to New York JFK Airport! The flight was delayed but unexpectedly there’s no line at the immigration and the only question that the IO asked me is the purpose of my trip! Ha, that was smooth even though I was just in the USA for a few months until last February. ❤️
I’m so happy to return to New York, the last time I was here was in January 2016 and it was sooooo cold! It took me much longer time waiting for the shuttle service but worth it because when I arrived at the hotel around 7 pm my Mom who I haven’t seen for a year was waiting for me! She flew all the way from Kuwait via Dubai and still suffering from a jetlag so I told her that we’ll only have dinner instead of going on a tour! We went to the hotel lobby to enjoy the free wine & champagne with cheese every afternoon and then we went on a buffet restaurant near our hotel as I’ve been really craving for unlimited seafood and asian food that I couldn’t find in Dominican Republic! Yummy pero hindi talaga kami pangbuffet ni Mama kasi lugi kami at hanggang dalawang round lang kami tapos busog na! Hahahah 😂 We returned to our room and to unpack my mom’s luggage with new clothes, earrings and shoes for me aside from the gift and dresses given to me by Yvette (my full-time VA since 2016!) Love it!! ❤️❤️
We’re so lucky because the same hotel sponsor who hosted me in 2016 is hosting me and mom during this trip, our first 2 nights will be here in Hotel Giraffe by Library Hotel Collection (Check the Latest Room Rates Here) ❤️ While we’ve been given VIP Passes from The New York Pass so we can enter any museums, join tours and ride on ferry & hop-on hop-off bus for free. If you’re going to New York, I highly recommend you purchasing this since you’ll save a lot of money! ⭐️
I’m so happy as well that my new luggage sponsor, Chester Travels, already sent the bag that I will use on my 2-month European trip! Let’s see! I’ll still bring my Thule backpack for the gadgets (they were our travel sponsor since 2017!) 🤪
Really grateful that blessings are pouring in and even though we took a different path on our blogging career last year, most of the companies/people that we’re working with today are the same people who worked with us when we were just starting! Yay! ⭐️
Now, I just finished renewing my passport at the Philippines Consulate in New York and it took less than an hour for the whole process! I only have to pay $60 with the application form then I will get it back after I finished my Europe trip! No, they don’t cancel your passport while you apply for renewal and you don’t need to live in the USA to renew, I only entered on a B1 Tourist visa!
Note: If you’re traveling long-term, you can renew your passport in any Philippines Embassy / Consulate abroad but you just have to make sure you have more than 6 months validity to be allowed to enter the country because the waiting time to get a new passport is 4 to 8 weeks! The last time I renewed mine was in 2016 in London which I got after 7 weeks of waiting.
Now, I’m off to show my mom around NY ⭐️
