1. Visit the Old Town Bascarsija and the City Hall

The Tunnel was built in July 1993. It was a 750-m long and 1.5-m high channel with the entrance and exit as two houses situated on the opposite sides of the airport. Sarajevo’s Museum “1878 – 1918“ was built to commemorate the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, his wife Sophie, and their unborn child on June 28, 1914. They died at the hand of Gavrilo Princip, a member of the Serbian nationalist group " Black Hand" which triggered World War One. The Museum also houses items from everyday life during the Austro-Hungarian period.
