Sailing Life Day 51: Working on our Boat Projects - Cleaning, Upholstery and Online Work
Some people might think that long-term travel is always adventure and “pasarap sa buhay” (not sure how I can translate it into English! Haha. help?).. the reality is that we also do the normal routine like anyone else but the difference is that now in our sailing life, we just keep moving and changing the destinations and our neighbors! Hahaha!! 🤪
This is so much better compared to our nomadic lifestyle before since we were moving from one hotel to another for almost four years! Now, we have a “real” floating home to look after! We don’t have all the luxury on the boat aside from my awesome memory foam mattress (better than any luxury hotels!)! 😂
But grateful that in places like here in DomRep, you can pay a local (and help their economy) to do the work! 😘
The other day Mama Lydia washed our month of dirty clothes (yes, a lot! Unlike what you think.. we go naked on the boat, but we still wear clothes most of the time! Haha) and bed sheets + a lot of towels (ourselves, cleaning, cover, etc.). It’s been a while since we’ve had very good smelling clothes! Haha 🤗
Then Jonathan met Juan, the upholstery guy who is going to change the cushions cover.. he charged us $250 for everything and that he’ll finish in 4 days! The materials were already ready since Jonathan’s mom gave us the fabric cover and yes we brought it all the way from last December coming from England to Rhode Island to Florida and now sailing with us for months now! Haha! Watch this space.. finally replacing it that will make our interior look better and cleaner! 😘
For me, I spent the whole day working online.. replying to emails + writing articles + calls with coaching clients! I was so exhausted but happy that I’m directly impacting and helping other people’s lives and not just talking about me! Hahaha! Kept myself entertained because of Captain Ahab! Love this cat so much!! 🐈⛵️
And that my friends are one normal day of our sailing life.. not adventurous but not boring! It’s how you see and live it! ❤️❤️
