Expat Life in Montenegro Day 164: We bought our first house in Montenegro!

After traveling to 138 countries in 7 continents.. at the age of 31, I’m officially done with the nomadic life and finally have a ”fixed” home! 🙏🏽

Jonathan and I just bought our first house in Montenegro - yes, we’re HOMEOWNERS now! ❤️

We signed the contract before we flew to Bhutan and kept it for weeks (I struggle to keep secrets! Hahah). Jonathan said I have to wait to finalize the sale, changing the ownership title and until the full payment reached the previous owners before I can share the good news. Hahaha! 🙏🏽

Travel blogging /twomonkeystravelgroup.com since 2014 has helped us to travel around the world visiting exotic destinations, gaining more knowledge, networking and even getting sponsors to help us sustain the long-term travel lifestyle but it’s not a stable career that would fund our bigger dreams!❤️

So with our blog, we’re able to reach more people and now have very strong support from readers like you and that’s why 2 years ago, I started my new website, Two Monkeys Sailing - Mr&MrsHowe Blog which I focused on while we were sailing. That website changed our lives since it’s where we started offering our services- travel and visa coaching, rent-a-flight, premium visa packs, and letter writing!🙏🏽

I just really wanted to help and at the same time for us to earn and save money for our future goals - we thought of buying a catamaran first but then having a home and stability sounds much better now that we have two cats 🐯🦁

I just want to thank our readers and clients (you know who you are and you guys kept telling you’d also add me on your prayer intentions) and it finally happened, we are able to buy a stone-house villa in Montenegro! ❤️

We now own a beautiful 611 sq.meters plot with 2 buildings (two-storey each) up in a small village in the mountain of Bijela (still Herceg Novi) but overlooking the Boka Bay and only less than 15 minutes drive to the beach! ❤️ We’re still less than an hour away from both Dubrovnik Airport and Tivat Airport.

It’s already livable and we’re already moving there within this month but Jonathan and I just hired an interior designer to make our 200 years old home more modern and luxurious like a hotel but with more soul and positive vibes.

We are planning to turn the other building to a Luxury holiday rental home with swimming pool while making the main building our home! 🙏🏽 This time, Jonathan has a bigger plot of land to turn to his veggie garden! 🤣 It took us weeks to find this stonehouse as most of the houses here are modern cemented house and other stonehouses are still in ruins but being sold for 100K euro for a place you can’t live yet (you’d need to put around 100K to fix it) but our house is more expensive but we can live on it already... yep, old houses are expensive because they are worth it! 🙀

I’m also starting my own Two Monkeys Tours & Immigration Services Ltd. company registered in Montenegro now that we have a residence permit here (5 years temporary but since we have a house here then it’s easy to get permanent residence, I hope the law won’t change!) ❤️ So hope you’d join me on our tours next year!

I can also help you answer your questions on the process of relocation to Montenegro. Read here.

Aside from tourist visa coaching, I now have a first-hand knowledge on how easy it is to immigrate and have residency in Europe without the need of getting a work sponsor. 😍 It’s more expensive to buy here in Montenegro compared to France, Greece, Spain or Portugal but I think the investment is going to be worth it esp they wanted to be part of EU in the near future.

I hope to meet some of you, so please add Montenegro on your travel list or join my future tour groups.✈️⛵️

Remember: “whatever you believe, you’ll achieve” and don’t let the setbacks in life or the challenges in your current situation to make you lose hope because #DreamsDoComeTrue! If you follow our blog for years, you know lahat ng pangarap kayang abutin kaya work smart, dream big and maghintay ka lamang 🙏🏽

P.S. I’m still going to travel and will continue my quest to visit every country in the world using my Philippines passport. But instead of rushing to finish, I’d go slowly while I prioritize my home with our cats, marriage, business and health ❤️
