Kach Solo Travels in 2019: Beginning of my silk road overland journey in Central Asia

Today is the day we left Dushanbe to begin my silk road overland journey in Central Asia.. I will be on the road driving through the Pamir Highway with Paramount Journey from Tajikistan to Osh, Kyrgyzstan for the next 8 days🚘

Our itinerary today was a long but awesome day driving from Dushanbe (started at 9am) to Kalaikhumb (halfway point to Khorog, capital of GBAO). We arrived at our guest house at 6:30pm since we did a lot of stops for photos and my selfies! Hahaha!😂😂

We have an incredible local guide and his name is Alisher.. we immediately got along well after I showed photos of my 2 cats and he also showed me the photo of his cat... hahaha! 😂😂

We drove today towards the Pamir over the mountain pass at Kalaikumb and took the southern road via Kulyab. We passed a lot of tunnels which were like 2 to 5 kms long.. crazy cool! 🤓

While driving we did a lot of stop including the beautiful Norak Dam and a small spices bazaar then to a lunch stop! 😌

When we’re about to enter the GBAO territory (Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Province), there was a checkpoint for our permit to enter.. if you don’t have it then you’ll not be allowed to enter. Then we drove along the Tajikistan - Afghanistan border which is only separated by a river!! We were able to see small villages on the Afghan side while also enjoying the beautiful scenery of this road trip! 😍

We saw a lot of locals who are incredibly nice, ate a lot of fresh fruits for snacks and had a lot of good laughs while driving! ❤️

We arrived at the guest house which is owned by a lovely Tajik family and it’s located beside the river.. the mother freshly cooked our meals! yummy! 😋
