Kach Solo Travels Day 9: Scuba Diving in Herceg Novi, Montenegro with Diving Montenegro Herceg Novi!
First time diving in the Adriatic Sea/ Mediterranean! 😍
Today we went diving with Diving Montenegro - Herceg Novi! We only heard yesterday evening that we could go dive the next day, so we had to wake up early to be on time in the dive shop! There we met the owner Dado, who is a very friendly and funny guy! We also met the rest of the group that would be diving with us, which consisted of two Dutch couples, one American guy, and one Norwegian guy. After we met the group, we tested our diving suits which were thicker than I am used to because some parts of the sea can be quite cold.😝
When we were all set to go, we took off on the boat and headed to dive at Mamula Island which is an island located nearby Herceg Novi. My sister Krista and her boyfriend Kees both have their diving license while I don't have it yet, so, unfortunately, we had to split up. The group was split up in the two, first, the ones with the license went diving and secondly the group without, which consisted of me and the Norwegian guy. So Krista and Kees went with the first group and went 18 meters deep. Because the second group only consisted of two, I had Dado as my private instructor who took a lot of photos and showed me the starfishes and urchins on the bottom of the sea. Dado and I reached a maximum depth of 12 meters!
Then we went to the next diving spot where the Dutchies and the American went for the second dive while Krista, Kees, the Norwegian guy, and I went snorkeling. After we were finished with the diving, we went back on the boat where we had plenty of fruits as I was starving after so much exercise haha! We really had a great time with the whole group and it was great meeting everyone!
Any scuba divers out there? Where did you get your PADI license? ❤️
P.S I’ve done quite a few scuba diving before in Mauritius, Costa Rica and the Florida Keys but I was not able to complete my Open Water certification because we didn’t get the time! Hopefully next year!
