Sailing Life Day 25: Second Day of Rough Weather because of South and Easterly Wind with Gust of 15 to 22 knots - SEASICK!

For 2 days, our monohull sailboat is swaying and swinging non-stop while anchored! Feels like I’m on a hammock with non-stop movement.. had to take seasick tablets because it made me really dizzy yesterday! I was supposed to catch up with more work but ended up spending the afternoon in bed then ended up watching Netflix after I downloaded a lot of movies during the house party the other day! 😂

I didn’t get seasick when we’re underway (sailing from one destination to another) but the last 2 days I’ve been under the weather! We’re currently anchored and Jonathan put 150 ft of chain for less boat movement but because of the waves it’s still really hard to function properly.. maybe because I’m still adjusting, we’ve been sailing for less than a month.. It’s great to know though that we have good anchor and Jonathan can handle these kind of things even without a windlass (for now!)

Captain Ahab knows he can’t play on the deck and spent the last 2 days cuddled with me and playing “catch a mouse” on my tablet! 😂🤣 (Yes, cats are techie and they have apps! Haha). When the waves became stronger, he’s just on his little hammock on our v-berth (bedroom) 🐈

Even though it’s been a rough weather we’re still blessed today! Do you remember our new Filipino friends we’ve met in the church? Yesterday Kuya Artem was here to check our engine issues while today Kuya Russel and Ate Joy who we were with us at the house party, freediving /spearfishing(Kuya Rus is the one who caught the big fish for our dinner!).. they told us to meet them today at the marina because they’ll give us some stuff! We have a small dinghy so our friend, Stuart of S/V Moonshadow, picked us up on his bigger dinghy with 9.9hp engine (ours is only 2.5 hp haha). The water was rough so there were some big waves and salt water were hitting my face, totally wet ride! Haha!

When we arrived.. Kuya Rus and Ate Joy, have 2 packs of bottled water(24 bottles) and 2 packs of sparkling water (24 bottles) for us.. 1 each for us and for our friend, Stuart! Aside from water, they gave us a big fruit jam jar to add on our provision! Kuya Rus even gave a souvenir cap to Jonathan!

Ha, blessings from incredible people we meet during this new adventure! Can’t believe it, it’s expensive to provision in The Bahamas and here I am now with 24 bottles of sparkling water.. 🤣

We returned to the boat soaking wet with salt water but just can’t stop smiling for the blessings we just received today.. When we arrived back to S/V Empress, I immediately cooked the lobster tail we got yesterday and cooked a very yummy Carbonara taught to me by my cousin who is in the Philippines.😘

Life is good and reminding me to always believe in the goodness of the Universe!❤️😍

Thank you, God! 🙏
