The big reveal: We're moving to HERCEG NOVI, MONTENEGRO! ππ»πππ²πͺ
Jonathan and I have traveled around the world πΊπ βπ and luckily got invited twice to visit Herceg Novi in Montenegro... we initially thought of moving to Portugal, South of Spain or Greece π΅πΉπͺπΈπ¬π· but after careful planning and checking the expenses and residency visa to relocate.. then we've decided that it's not for us.π§
Then we got invited again by the tourism board of Herceg Novi to go this June for a sailing regatta when we realized why not just live in Montenegro? π²πͺ ππ»ππ
Why?
βοΈ We plan to buy a catamaran for a charter business and live on the boat for 4 to 6 months every year during winter and go sailing in Europe. Herceg Novi has the Bay of Kotor and perfect for us to have a boat and a house! π₯ππ‘
βοΈ We wanted to buy a property with a small farm so Jonathan can work on his long-term sustainable lifestyle and now is the best time to buy an Olive Farm in Montenegro as it's still not that crowded and not that expensive! π³π±βπ©βπΎπ¨βπΎπ
βοΈ It's not part of the EU (yet) and so getting a residency is going to be easier.. we already spoke with an Accountant/ Lawyer and all we need to do is have money on the bank and start our limited company business (which we actually plan to do!) π πͺπΊπΆ
βοΈ Filipinos can enter with their USA Visa so now my mom won't need to apply for Montenegro or even Schengen visa whenever she wants to visit us or travel to look after the cats whenever Jonathan and I would go somewhere! haha π€ͺπ€£ πΈπ½
βοΈ We're close to the UK and a lot of direct flights to London so Jonathan's family and friends can easily come to visit us or we can travel back there anytime. π¬π§π‘πππββοΈ
βοΈWe already have friends there and it's not going to be hard to transition and we were also able to explore the town and know that there are a lot of good restaurants, tour activities and a lot more there! ππ―ππ»π₯
βοΈ Herceg Novi is surrounded by mountains and the sea! So we could go hiking and at the same time do water activities! It's also a quick drive away anywhere in the Balkans and Croatia etc. Itβs just a beautiful city during summer and quiet and calm (but very cold) during winter which is why we will leave and travel π€£ πβ°πππ π
The cost of living is still cheaper than other Western Europe countries and we're still strategically located and can easily fly anywhere from Dubrovnik Airport in Croatia which is only 40 minutes drive away from Herceg Novi!βοΈ
Basically, our long-term plan now is to live in Europe during summer and go somewhere else on our next boat (a catamaran) during winter and we'll do all of these with our two cats, Captain Ahab & Little Zissou! ππ±πΈπΊ
We already rented a 2-bedroom fully furnished apartment for a year while Jonathan's brother helped us buy a second-hand car in the UK... check out some photos of Herceg Novi! πππ π
This is it.. letβs see how it goes! Canβt wait to document the next chapter of our adventures! Positive vibes!! πβ€βΊ
