Liveaboard Life Day 136 to 137: Boat Preparation for the Hurricane Season
How’s the beginning of the week, guys? ❤️ Wasn’t able to update as we’ve been full with workload and boat projects since yesterday! Jonathan has been busy making sure that our boat is ready to move anytime (just in case of emergencies)... found out that our starter battery was dead so we bought a brand new one and also removed (& reinstalled) our starter motor to be serviced and tested! It works fine now! 🙏⛵️
While I was away, Jonathan was able to find a deal to upgrade our outboard motor for our dinghy (our small inflatable) from 2.5hp and we now have a 9.8 hp! Thanks to Nick of Sailing Satori! Then our friend Sabrina fixed the propeller and serviced the engine so it’s now running smoothly.. if before, it took us 7 minutes to go to land, now we can do it in less than 3 minutes! Woohoo! ❤️
We also went to Puerto Plata today which is the city with big grocery supermarket to buy our food & other supplies for the month! I wanna learn how to start baking since our friend, CJ of S/V Ragnarok, taught me how to make a bread.. This month’s personal goal is to make our own coconut bread! 🤪 Our friend Matt of Sailing Roxy Dog joined us to buy their food too and helped us carry the boxes! Jonathan is also happy to have a lot of instant brownies for his snacks! hihihi! ❤️
Our Captain Ahab was left alone on the boat as our security guard today.. well, he’s a big boy now and everyone knows him here! 🤪 He was happy when we brought home a big box as his new toy! 🐈🤪
When we got back, I was back in front of my phone/ laptop for my coaching clients.. I usually work late at night or early morning because of the timezone! Haha 🤪
Really love our simple sailing life with amazing friends sorrounding us everyday! If yoy guys happen to visit Dominican Republic, message us and would love to meet you (and you’ll love our Captain Ahab!)
Positive vibes everyone.. enjoy every moment while working on achieving the big goals! 🙏❤️
