Before Leaving Florida Keys: Things We Did the Week Before Leaving the Keys
*The Behind The Scenes of Making our Sailing Dream Come True*
Finished these errands in the last 3 days which is why I didn’t have time online or socializing with friends! Oops!
✔️ Captain Ahab’s Health Certificate Stamped
✔️ Refilled our LPG tanks, Diesel Container and Gas Container
✔️ Filled our Water Tank
✔️ Shopping for our food, wine and everything for the cat!
✔️ Exit Permission from the United States Immigration
✔️ Bought back-up parts for the boat
✔️ Laundry
✔️ Paid our Sailboat Insurance
✔️ Bought a LifeRaft for more than $2,300 (hope we’ll never use it!)
✔️ Sailboat Bottom Clean
✔️ Our friend, Captain Mike, is sewing our Main Sail damage
✔️ Activated our EPIRB (Emergency Beacon)
✔️ Updated all of our ChartPlotters
✔️ Downloaded movies and Netflix shows😍
Now I have to figure out how everything that we own/ have will fit and be placed on our small cabinets where half of the boat is full of Jonathan’s tools and extra boat parts! Haha ❤️ Time to cook meals so we can just easily re-heat them while Jonathan will still fix some minor stuff on the boat! I’ll be cleaning our dinghy bottom this afternoon after I organize some things!
Anything else I forgot? Haha! Yes, I’m still sane! Jonathan said sailing is easier but I’be been working triple hard this time! Hahaha! I know it’s all going to be worth it 😍👫
This is it.. will update you soon but BAHAMAS here we come! Be ready for Captain Ahab, the Sailor Cat’s more adventure photos and vlogs! 😂🐈⛵️
(I’ve been to the Bahamas twice already but this time we’ll be exploring some off-the-beaten islands before we make our way to sail all over the Caribbean until we reach Panama or Colombia ⛵️🐈👫. We don’t have any schedule, it will just depend on the wind and ocean!)
Hello mga labs! Not able to post consistently because we’ve been really swamped with our “to-do list”.. hoping that we’ll not have any delays anymore!
Jonathan and I are checking out at the USA Immigration today then we will be getting Captain Ahab’s health certificate stamped as well! Woohoo! We’re doing one more shopping, waiting for packages (our fridge cold plate and antenna) then selling last items that we’ll not be able to bring with us!🐈👫
We’re hoping to leave on the next weather window with 2 other boats since it’s going to be our first long sailing trip to the Bahamas!⛵️😍
Really excited.. finally! Damay nyu lang po kami sa prayers nyu! Maybe one day, you’ll join us when we have more experience! ❤️ Do we have any readers who likes sailing too? Share your sailing experience below! ❤️
P.S. Kala ko dati 1 month lang magready na ang boat pero inabot ng 8 months parang nag-aral na din sa institution but Jonathan and I learned a lot and met a lot of wonderful new friends and family! Thank you, God! 🙏
