Anyway, we weren’t still on a vacation mode this week since we arrived in the Bahamas..
Over the last few days we have installed new stanchions and lifelines, safety tether anchors, a new battery bank, a water-maker and various other small jobs. In a couple of days we’ll be sitting down with two friends to plan our possible routes from the Florida Keys to the Bahamas. Watch this space, we’re leaving soon!
Back in 2013, Jonathan and I were broke backpackers. We chose to leave our 8-5 jobs in exchange for a more fulfilling lifestyle. It’s a roller coaster ride. It was fun and exciting, but we are not millionaires-- it came to the point that we didn’t have much money to sustain that kind of lifestyle. We started assessing ourselves and our skills by asking ourselves: ‘What are we good at?’ ‘What else can we do aside from staring at our computers from 8-5 and serving coffee to our bosses?’ ‘Can we learn another skill while we’re on the road?’ ‘Can we earn from it?’

If you’re lucky, by the time you hit retirement age you’ll still be in good enough health and have enough cash saved up to get back to having fun again. Well, what if you don’t want to wait until you reach old age to have fun?
Before you let it all go and fly off on your great adventure, consider these:
There’s something very romantic about overnight train travel, even on the hectic & crowded ancient Indian trains there was a magic to the experience of settling down in your cabin watching the sun set over the landscape whizzing by through the window. With these fond memories in mind, we decided to make the journey between Tbilisi, Georgia and Baku, Azerbaijan and back again by sleeper train.
